Overview

LOVE IS A BATTLEFIELD

Gregory Gallowglass is the eligible bachelor on the planet of Gramarye. The youngest son of the High Warlock Rod Gallowglass and the witch Gwendolyn, his powers of intellect and magic are without equal.

But he's best known for his heart-one as pure as it is impervious to love. To the femme fatale assassin Finister, it's the ultimate challenge: first to conquer, then drive a knife through.

Using her best charms both sorcerous and seductive, Finister finds a chink in his emotional armor and captures his love. Gregory drops his defenses-and she strikes.

But then something goes wrong. Her attack fails to kill him... but Gregory still loves her. Now what? Can she still manage to slay him, even after losing the element of surprise?

With neither side willing to surrender, the deadly dance continues. But can Gregory really win his assassin's heart through simple kindness, compassion, and patience? One thing is certain: having finally found love, Gregory is willing to risk everything-or die trying.

About the Author

About The Author
Christopher Stasheff was a teacher, thespian, techie, and author of science fiction & fantasy novels. One of the pioneers of "science fantasy," his career spanned four decades, 44 novels (including translations into Czech, German, Italian, Russian, and Japanese), 29 short stories, and seven 7 anthologies. His novels are famous for their humor (and bad puns), exploration of comparative political systems, and philosophical undertones. Chris always had difficulty distinguishing fantasy from reality and has tried to compensate by teaching college. When teaching proved too real, he gave it up in favor of writing full time. He tended to pre-script his life, but couldn't understand why other people never got their lines right. This caused a fair amount of misunderstanding with his wife and four children. He wrote novels because it's the only way he could be the director, the designer, and all the actors too.
