Summoned back to the wild lands, Firekeeper learns that many of the Beasts she still thinks of as "her" people no longer trust her to hold their best interests close to her heart. Nonetheless, when several much dreaded magical artifacts are stolen from Revelation Point Castle in Bright Bay, it is to Firekeeper, with her ability to act directly in the human world, that the Beasts turn.

The Beasts are not the only ones who dread what the resurfacing of these arcane heirlooms may mean. Rumors connect the reputed sorceress, Melina Shield, to the theft. Her involvement could have serious consequences for delicate balance of power between Hawk Haven and her neighboring lands.

Firekeeper and Blind Seer join forces with Derian Carter, Elise Archer, and Jared Surcliffe on a mission that will take them into the strange land of New Kelvin and beyond. Before it has ended, Firekeeper will be forced to once again assess her place between the worlds – worlds it seems she can only bridge if she gives into the temptation of using forbidden magical lore.
