About book A Helping Hand (2008)

This could have been a 5 star read for me but I didn't like Rich's time with Jeremy. It felt like cheating even though Rich wasn't in a relationship with Dan, too much emphasis was placed on their sex scenes and relationship together which overshadowed Rich and Dan's. It's never good to show one of the main character's time with someone else in a better light, makes me wonder why he wanted to be with Dan so much when Rich seemed he would have been better off with Jeremy. I also didn't care for the abrupt ending, I would have liked to see how things turned out for them. Contemporary rural Tennessee cops are close as best friends can be, but Rich has a big secret. Rich is gay. He has a friend with benefits in Memphis who he keeps a secret from even his BFF Dan. Dan is a ladies man, but he never stays with any lady for long because they aren't the 'one'. I love the moment when Dan figures out that he was looking for Miss Right and failing because he really was waiting for Mr. Right, closest friend Rich.I really liked Jeremy in Memphis, and I get that people don't choose who they fall in love with, but Jeremy was a great loving sweet guy that didn't play any mental/emotional games. There is some sexy M/M scenes with Dan/Rich and Rich/Jeremy, I never felt like Rich was cheating because Dan constantly rejected Rich's feelings. Usually I hate when the Hero cheats in a story, but in this case, it really fit and made sense.136 pages of M/M romance with men in uniforms (delicious!) 3 stars

Too simple and a bit soap opera-ish.
