About book A Job From Hell (2000)

I did not like Amber as much as I liked Cass. Maybe it was because Amber's jokes were only funny in the first few pages, after that it became too childish. I wanted to whisper to Aiden to open his eyes/nose to notice that she is a teenage slob, who keeps forgetting to wash her clothes and she wears that dirty, smelly clothes... I really think the idea for the story, with the demon girl and Shadow characters, is great it brings a twist to the normal vampire story. This book is good for younger teenagers. I enjoyed the banter and remarks between Cass and Kieran, they obviously adore each other but don't want to admit it. Amber never really uses her "gift" of speaking to those who had crossed over... Cliffhanger ending! All books that forms part of a series should be stand alone books too, and a good ending makes the difference between a good and a great book. I've read the sample of the next book in the series to see where it leads to and the sample of Beelzebub Girl (Ancient Legends Book Two) is way better than the 1st book, so guess what??? I am definitely going to carry on reading this series, despite the abrupt ending of the 1st book, because my favorite characters make their appearance in book 2. Now you see the importance of having the sample of your next book available right after the current one ends... The book wasn't my favorite read but I enjoyed it. Lots of small details could have made the story more interesting, more elaborate details about the characters, events, and scenes would also catch the readers attention. Overall though, the baseline of the story was pretty good, I mean I do like happy endings but the plot should have a little bit more events that create a connection or bond between each character instead of them just existing. For example the author puts a link between Devon and Amber where he says he likes her but doesn't mean it, Scott should have expanded a little more on that idea and build a relationship where Devon would have betrayed her in the end. That would have made Amber's feelings more elaborate and interesting, which would catch a lot more readers.

I stopped reading this when I realized she was 17. I knew I wouldn't enjoy the story.

I liked it. It could've benefitted from a tad bit more proofreading though.
