About book A Nő Mosolya (2010)

Nicolas Barreau , a pseudonym under which is hidden the German author Daniel Thiele, known for her novels ‘The woman of my dreams' and 'You'll find me at the end of the world', wrote another romance novel called ‘The Ingredients of Love’. Aurélie Bredin owns a small restaurant in Paris and she is in relationship with the theatrical set designer Claude. The seemingly idyllic love story will end with his message in which he confess Aurélie that he have found a kindred spirit. Devastated and disappointed, Aurelie is wandering the streets of Paris and enters a small bookstore. Her eyes will catch a book called 'The Ingredients of Love’ and she will decide to buy it.With hot coffee and hot sandwich Aurelie will begin to read the book and soon will realize that the main character is similar to her, and book even referred to her restaurant. Confused by coincidence, Aurélie will go to the publisher André and begs him to convey her letter to the author. Publisher André will promise to help her and then things will start to complicate...Daniel Thiele with her atypical story brought freshness to the typical romance genre. Her story is funny, very romantic, but not too cheesy. However, the novel characters are flat and only superficially presented. The reader doesn’t get a chance to get to know the novel characters and empathizing with them was almost impossible. The starting point of the author is excellent; however, it seems that she failed to implement it fully. Although there are numerous twists and turns, tension and excitement are almost absent, and the novel ends with the real cliché. What might confuse readers is the author's decision to put both of her main characters, Aurélie and André, as narrators, and additionally readers who do not know the French language will have difficulties with a number of untranslated sentences. At the end of the novel the author has decided to put all the recipes of dishes that are mentioned in the novel. Some people will consider that as compelling, even useful, while others will see that as a result of the author's indecision: “Should I write a love story or a cookbook?”So if you're a fan of romance novels, fluent in French and love French cuisine, this would be a novel you might like it – all others will not lose much if they skip it.

Eine wunderschöne Reise nach Paris. Mit ganz viel Zauber und Romantik.

Light, fresh.. Seems a movie script instead of a deep book.
