About book Alice In Deadland Trilogy (2000)

I've never heard of Mainak Dhar before being told about the first in this trilogy. I love books that take in historical fiction and paranormal reads but, with hearing from multiple people, decided to give it a try. The story can actually be close to future events in reality. This book doesn't disappoint on the characters and story line. It was easy to try and visualize even the scenes/ scenery. The only problem I had was with the editing. As you get farther into them , it gets REALLY annoying. I still plan on keeping, rereading, and recommend to others. While the story is engaging, the writing is terrible in this series, and the editing is little better. Each book is little more than a series of plot points loosely and at times confusingly strung together. There is little to no description and quite a bit of repetition, with a great deal explained point-blank without allowing the reader to come to their own conclusions about what's really happening in Deadland. It seems obvious that this book was written by an author to whom English is not a first language, and, while not necessarily a bad thing in itself, it seems as though this is a poor translation at best.

Only liked the 3rd book in the series. The first 2 did not do it for me at all.
