The Sandman Slim books are just like those gritty hard boiled detective novels, with a battle between Heaven and Hell thrown in. They're also a whole bunch of fun. Stark is a major smartass, with some genuine laugh out loud ( no abbreviations there suckers) moments. This one is not quite as good as the first two but still a rip snorter. This series is one I always look forward to reading, so keep writing them champ. this series just keeps on getting better. I love the change in atmosphere with this book- taking place in hell and Jim trying to finally kill Mason and resolve his guilt issues about Alice. I can not wait to pick up the next installment of this book when I actually have time. Each book in the Sandman slim series only makes you want more where you can't help but want to know what will become of Jim and his posse.
