About book Attack On Titan, Vol. 8 (2012)

I might read past this volume since I think this is where the anime was at. Or I might take a break and catch up later on. I don't know. For now, I think I'll take a break from the excitement. Because that's how this series has been so far.It has interesting premise, characters, setting, character development, art work improving more and more. And of course the story, etc. So yeah, my new favorite basically. So the story continues and now the female titan has finally been unveiled and the identity is now known. Basically this whole volume is how they plan to capture her and how they go about doing it. Can I just say that I knew it was Annie! I know that it was super obvious but I still feel pretty weird that I knew it the minute she was introduced. Although I do have to admit that it was interesting when they were able to deduce how they knew that it was her. I just wish that they would have done this sooner. Because here's my thing. How is it that people don't seem to notice that Annie is gone during the times that the female titan attacks? It's strange that the Military Police is so "prestigious" but no one even bothers to do a background check on this chick, or anyone else for that matter. It doesn't make any sense at all and it's even weirder to think that she has had this power for a long time even though she barely graduated training pretty recently. And then she freezes herself into some crystal crap which is the new excuse for not explaining anything. Why do I even bother looking for logic? I'm not really sure if this was pure laziness or done on purpose. All I know is that whatever explanation is going to be given to us at the end it better be a pretty dang good one. I just hope that the author isn't making this up as he goes because that could cause some serious trouble.Anyways, the survey corps were supposed to turn Eren in to the Military police, but since they were planning on capturing the female titan they didn't exactly get around to doing that. And I don't know about you but I really don't understand why the Military Police all acts like a bunch of ignorant swine. It seems to me that they all just go around contributing nothing to society except picking on others and having the right to claim that they protect the King. Which is sad considering that you have to be in the top ten of your class to get there. Talk about a waste of good soldiers. But enough about them. There was one last thing I wanted to mention and if you read this book I'm sure you can already guess what it is. It's that tiny little fact that the titans were built inside the wall. While Armin does discuss how it would make sense to use them what I don't get is why the church has refused to say anything about it. Apparently they've known this for a long time and somehow their "beliefs" keep them from telling everyone this huge secret. And it's a huge deal too since the titan that Mikasa revealed was still alive meaning that they are all probably alive. If that's the case how are they staying put? Wouldn't try and break their way out? Since this isn't set in a time period with bombs I really doubt they have the material strong enough to keep these huge titans in the wall. But I've been wrong about something in this series before and I'm willing to be wrong again. But I really don't understand how your religion could keep you from telling something important that would benefit humanity. After all, isn't that the point of religion? To benefit humanity? I'm so lost right now but I'm also really hoping that some epic explanation is going to happen. I won't get my hopes up though...
