It was a good solid story, however the book needed editing. Way to many typos and double words and the grammar was messy. not that I majored in English, but it was painfully obvious . I would have given this a 3 1/2 stars due to this alone. This being said , The story was engaging and the characters likable. At this point, I would want to see a stronger alpha hero in Alec ( het lost love ) he gives in to her way to much and seems to always be on standby for her ( Aimee ) No true alpha would stand for this and would be right in there fighting along side her. Aimee , seemed more alpha to me, but, without giving to much away, she wasn't use to all these new magical strengths and was flexing her muscles a bit to figure out hot how to use them. Love the world building that Ms. Gossett created underground for the vampires, and the society within the walls. If I say anymore, I will give it away....so many twists and turns in this book.....as soon as I finished this book I downloaded the second in series. It is worth the read, just try and look over the typos and it will be all good. I liked this new take on vampire romances and werewolves. although since the werewolves didn't only change during a full moon, perhaps they were more shapeshifters. As the only person born with the genes of a werewolf and vampire, Ammie is something special. The Rogue werewolves kidnap her and wipe her memories in order to have her on their side, knowing she is destined for greatness one day. After witnessing her fiance do something horrific on their wedding day, Ammie leaves him and falls into the arms of Alec a vampire she once loved, but doesn't know now. Once she is brought back home, she finds her mother who she thought she lost, and she begins to regain memories, especially of her and Alec. While her feelings for him begin to resurface, she fights the feelings that came from loving the werewolf Derek for six years. After an attack from someone inside the vampire community working with the rogues almost causes Alec to die, Amy realizes that she will need to leave and face her kidnapper and love Derek in order to move on with her new life.
