About book Belle Teale (2004)

Belle Teal by Ann M. Martin is about a girl learning that the world can cruel place and you should stand up for what is right. Belle Teal learns that she needs to stand up for her friends when people are making fun of you because of your race. It was in the time where people were racist. Belle Teal has a friend names Darryl. He is black and people don’t want him to go to school with them. Belle has a friend named Clarice and she help Belle Teal stick up for Darryl.I love how this book has life lessons. It teaches you how to stick up for your friends or what you believe in. It teaches you how to stick up for yourself. There is a girl named Vanessa that Belle Teal does not get along with. She calls her HRH (her royal highness). She learns that people act out of feeling. Vanessa has a few secrets she has not told. This book gives you stuff you have to learn and puts it in a situation that people can relate to.Belle Teal is amazing. She always is so supportive. She said, “You would really like Darryl. There is not a mean bone in his body.” And “Think of every darn thing those boys have said since they very first day of school. All you are going to do is show them how they are wrong in their thinking. And I’ll be doing it with you.” Belle lives with her mother and grandmother. Her mother and her grandmother really support her. They know what life is like. “Hate only creates more hate”, her mom one told her.Clarice is an amazing friend to Belle Teal. She and Belle Teal are so similar. They both are really brave and stand up for what they believe in. Vernon was calling Belle Teal and Clarice really mean names and she went up and said, “Say it again call me and Belle Teal what you’ve been calling us.” This book made me think of the book Gathering Blue by Lois Lowry. They are both girls that have something they want to do. They are both really brave and determined. I like how the author put life lessons into something you can really relate to. In your life there will always be someone that will annoy you and get you irritated. Sometimes you will have a friend that will betray you. Belle Teal experiences that and it really hurts her. She has a friend then he starts to be friends with Vernon and call Belle Teal names for being friends with Darryl. They are so relatable! I know actually how she feels. I wish hat they made a sequel to this book! It was amazing and I want to know more about what happens at the end! The book is so inspiring. I think if there were a second book it would be amazing! Belle Teal learned a lot in this book but there is so much more! I would like to know more about Darryl and Clarice. They are both amazing characters. It would be cool if this book was written in different points if view. One chapter of Belle Teal’s, one of Darryl’s, then one of Clarice’s, and back to Belle Teal’s. You would get to know what the other characters felt and thought. I would like to know a little more about Belle Teal and Little Boss’s friendship. Why does he start to not listen to her? Was it because of Big Boss? They seem like such good friends that that happens! Belle Teal seems so real. I feel like this book was what actually happened to someone! The feeling and experiences are so real. Anne M. Martin is a great author. If she has more books I would defiantly want to read them. I think this is a book many people should read. I think 5th or 6th grade is a good time to read it! This book is so good and Belle Teal is amazing!

"Belle Teal", by Ann M. Martin, creates a setting distant away in the country. This place is named or called Coker Creek, in which Belle lives. The book reveals much of Belle's life during very difficult times around her beginning of fifth grade. These difficult times were not only emotional usually, they also created the most powerful of Belle. Now, a weapon that Belle seems to use quite often is her journal. In this journal, Belle reflects on her own feelings and comments of her daily life. So, I guess that it appears to you as if Belle has the potential to deal with her difficulties. Unfortunatly, they include belonging to a poor family where her father is dead and a household which contains a mother, grandmother, and Belle only. I myself would think that her life is threatening enough. Even worse, Belle also faces severe problems at school in which she has to find her own path to fight through. To find out more, read "Belle Teal" for yourself and share your thoughts with us! I found "Belle Teal" a little boring during the middle while her life started to create a noticible pattern. On the other hand, a suprising twist comes and drages you along with Belle. I would reccomend this book for unfamiliar readers out there that want to connect to someone else's life or become encouraged. I believe that once you read this book, you will come upon a point where you realize that you are not the only troubled person out there. You will eventually also discover your inner self. To clarify, you may figure out how strong you are compared to Belle depending on what experiences you have had. So, I have given this book a total of three stars because, of it;s heartwarming tresure that lies between all of the words in "Belle Teal". Reading this book will make anyone understand that not everyone is fortunate but, can try their best with their family. This treasure was all about family and how one is passionate for another.

Do You like book Belle Teale (2004)?

Belle Teal is a strong, understanding, and caring protagonist. Her role in this story was crucial. How she stood up for someone was admirable. I wish I could be like her. But that wouldn't be me, would it? Belle Teal lives with her grandma who's loosing her memory and her mom who tries to work and support the family. At school, Belle Teal has one friend name Clarice and her friend was very understanding and Clarice would side with Belle a lot and support her on her weaknesses. There are two new students to the class is Vanessa and Darryl. Vanessa was a prissy, spoiled girl who acted like she was the best while she is keeping a painful secret she hides behind a mask. Then there is Darryl, the boy who ever is bullying because they know he doesn't belong here because he is colored. He is very strong for not fighting them back and, later, Belle ends up being his friend and that is good. Little Boss was mean but he was nice to Belle and it felt like he liked her but he was mean so she had mixed emotion for him. Big Boss is Little Boss's dad whom I didn't like because he always would hit him and get mad and those dads that aren't meant to be dads. Chaz and Venom were with Little Boss and they were bully gang but Belle didn't hat them so that was okay.So the characters are some credit but also the plot and how VERY relatable it was to me. Even if I wasn't living in the 1960's or so, it felt like I could actually be Belle someday and fight or stand up for my friends or something that I know is right. Someday, someone like her should be the first female president! This book was a fast read but it had in-depth stuff in there. I was very sad at the end with Little Boss but I was happy for Darryl, he deserved it! This book is truly a life changing one where you kind of think Why are people like that back then?! feeling. At least for me it was. I hope many will pick this up and read it!

Belle Teal was a captivating story about a girl living back in 1950's. Belle lives with her forgetful Gran, and mother who is trying hard to find a job. Soon, Belle Teal starts the fifth grade with the teacher she had always wanted. She shares secrets with her friend Clarice, and thinks one of the mean boys in school has a secret crush on her. Everything is perfect until Belle meets Vanessa Mathers, a snobby girl who always boasts about her mother and herself. Then, a black boy named Darryl comes to the class and everyone is mean to him. As Darryl struggles with the hardships of desegregation, Belle and Clarice are his friends. Many adventures and heart-pounding moments are in this book. I really enjoyed it.
