This is one of the only series that I have stuck with for so long and have enjoyed so much. I find it really well written and still suspenseful. I can't believe that this was the 13th book in the series. I found the last book to drag on a bit, but this one had me wanting more. It was difficult for me to put it down, and I read it whenever I could. I liked the suspense and the tension between the humans and vampires, added more drama to the series. It will be interesting to see whether the next two books hold up to it or whether the series will start to decline. I really liked this book, even though it's not my favorite of the series, I enjoy the POV of some of the vampires. The more I read the more I must admit to hating Claire and Shane! I have gotten to the point were I skip over any part where they are talking about how in love they are, I find it so annoying. I think it's because I don't like Shane. When Oliver had to leave town I also felt sad because he has become one of my favorite characters. I think I just like that he's genuine, stays the same and isn't trying to prove himself. He just is. I love Myrnin because he's crazy grandpa who experienced trauma (I'm a therapist so of course I gravitate towards the victims). Amelie continues to be my favorite and if there is ever a series about her I'd read it. Any way I recommend this book if you love the series, it won't disappoint.
