I cant exactly say anything about this book, since i didnt completely finnish, but the book started mid- action, so it was hard for me to comprehend the book. I picked up the book in a dollar store, I was like what the hell since it only cost a dollar. Maybe if I started from the first book it would have made more sense. Its not a bad book...its original compared to all the other vampire-wolf related books. My favorite of the series. I love when books cross over and casts connect! It feels seamless here though the author does give her readers a wink and a nod about how coincidental the connections are. It's too bad TWILIGHT is the poster child for supernatural romance/vampire fiction bc there really is excellent supernatural writing out this, this series being one. The author knows her folklore and literary ancestors; she pays them tribute while adapting them to modern times. The characters are engaging and readers come to care about them and the salvation of their souls.A great, fun read that will get readers thinking about bigger issues. Leitich Smith tackles bigger issues in all of the books, but gives readers the room to make their own judgments.
