About book Bone Gods (2010)

4.5 Into the in between, through the black, deals with demons, deals with the Hecate, framed for murder, necromancers about, fights the Morrigan, her love is not right, and yet she goes on. Pete does them all, with a pair of brass ones ! Dang if this girl doesn't get everything that can go badly thrown at her.Belial, the big nasty demon that claimed Jacks soul is back and he's full of snarky comebacks. He dresses fancy and has a dark twisted wit that reminds me of Kim Harrison's demon AL. I really liked Belial, he was just right on the evil scale. He is tricked in this book and loses Jacks soul to another bad. But a deal is made that brings him up from the pit and into the world for some boot arse kicking !Pete she is a stupid girl in love with a life draining man. Their relationship can never be easy, never be smooth or simple. The ties that bind them are stronger perhaps than the evil they place upon each other. I can only hope. beacuse-What happens at the end is heartbreaking. The cliffhanger ending has me sitting on the edge of my seat ordering the next book. This series gets better and better with each book. It is a dark urban fantasy. Pete's got a whole lot on her hands and is essentially flying blind. She gets a call from her old partner who wants her to come and look at a murder victim - not just an ordinary murder victim, but one who has all sort of strange symbols carved into his body. Pete starts her investigation and all of the sudden so many people are interested in what she's finding out. Now everything takes on a new complication when Jack returns from Hell - with "no memory" of how he escaped. Pete's given a directive by The Hecate to kill Jack, but she needs to figure out what is going with the symbols carved into the dead man's flesh first. Will Pete realize how everything is interconnected before it's too late?I just love the grittiness of this series. It's not sweetness and light, but dark, dank, and dirty - it's great!! I do feel for Pete and the dilemma that she's in now, but she's made her choices and she's got to figure out her own way to live with or deal with the consequences. And she's not above giving some nasty bloke a boot to the bollocks (and more) if they cross her. Do be warned - there is strong language in the book, so if that's not your thing, please keep that in mind. Otherwise, hop on a plane and take the tube down to Black London...at your own risk!Black London Series: Street Magic (1), Demon Bound (2), Bone Gods (3), Devil's Business (4), The Curse of Four (4.5), Soul Trade (5)

Do You like book Bone Gods (2010)?

I greatly enjoy Kittredge's characters - they are full-bodied, real people. Not perfect...but real.
