About book Book Of Dreams (2011)

Elena Burroughs is a clinical psychologist with a best-selling book on dream interpretation. Still grieving the unexpected death of her husband five years previously, she’s retreated into her comfortable world. All that changes when a mysterious woman arrives with her bodyguards and tells Elena of a recurring nightmare that has robbed her of sleep for more than three weeks. Soon afterwards, Elena becomes the heir to a book of dreams that is hundreds of years old and is plunged into a world of power, intrigue, secrets, and heartache where standing up for what’s right can cost your life. However, stepping out of her comfort zone and trusting God also brings a new sense of purpose and a love she thought she would never taste again.I’ve enjoyed many of Davis Bunn’s books and this one is no exception. He writes beautifully and I love the way he weaves faith into his stories. Several characters are challenged to see beyond their own circumstances and trust that God is working on their behalf even though their situations seem hopeless. I found my own faith being spurred on as the group learned to trust God, hear his voice, and follow his mission for their lives. The resolution is very satisfying and I had to smile at the interesting turn on the final page. This book has something for everyone – great characters, original plot, current issues surrounding the aftermath of the global financial crisis, supernatural encounters, secrets and mysteries, faith issues, social justice, and a touch of romance. A very enjoyable and satisfying read. Very enjoyable read!! The author has deftly woven a tale of mystery, intrigue, and spiritual depth. I enjoyed the locale - England - with its history and culture. The hidden machinations of governments and businesses ("powers and principalities"?) were revealed in current events - quite frighteningly. Although there were dreams in the story, it didn't really dwell on them so much as the supernatural realities. I liked to see how the characters didn't always get along, even though they were Christian - and yet they were united in the essential truths.

Fascinating take on financial crisis in USA and the "principalities and powers" at work.
