I fell in love with the first Cauld Ane book, and the follow up did not let me down!I must admit, I had mixed feelings on the beginning of the book. There were so many unanswered questions about Pepper from book 1, and I completely understand the decision to start book 2 a bit in the past in order to get some of these questions answered. However, it seemed like I was reading too much of the exact same dialogue from book 1.That being said, I absolutely loved Pepper and Con and could not put this book down. Now I must go download book 3! I was provided with a copy of this book by the author in exchange for an honest review.This is book 2 in the Cauld Ane series and follows the story of Pepper & Connall. Again Tracey Jane Jackson hasn't disappointed with book 2.The book starts off when Sam was leaving for Scotland, I love that it was done this way. It gives you a better all-round experience of the series.Pepper is a great character and you really feel her anxiety and travel on the emotional roller-coaster with her. At points you want to smack her upside the head but then you realise that you've been through the mating before with Sam and Kade whereas Pepper hasn't a clue what's going on, doh!Connall, hmmmm I want me a Connall! He is an Alpha male, who may I add is open to compromise!!! My type of Alpha, strong and domineering but will listen and not smoother. Sigh.I also love how Sam and Kade are in the book to, not too much as it's not their story but enough that keeps you happy.The plot is intriguing and keeps you turning the pages and also lays the foundations well for the next book in the series but as for who that may be, we'll just have to wait and see. I for one am looking forward to the next installement of the Cauld Ane Clan.
