About book Bound To Remember (2000)

Since I don't normally write reviews unless I have something specific to say, here's the break down of how I rate my books...1 star... This book was bad, so bad I may have given up and skipped to the end. I will avoid this author like the plague in the future.2 stars... This book was not very good, and I won't be reading any more from the author.3 stars... This book was ok, but I won't go out of my way to read more, But if I find another book by the author for under a dollar I'd pick it up.4 stars... I really enjoyed this book and will definitely be on the look out to pick up more from the series/author.5 stars... I loved this book! It had earned a permanent home in my collection and I'll be picking up the rest of the series and other books from the author ASAP. When I was contacted by the author to do a review, I knew I couldn’t pass up the opportunity. I’ve heard great things about her and the book was right up my alley when I read that it involved vampires. It was just another day at work for Dr. Toni Hollander until Nurse Ben Slaton walks in. They are instantly attracted to one another and she’s ecstatic when she learns she will be his personal tour guide. After seeing the chemistry between the two, Toni’s ex, Kevin, tries to interfere with no luck. Things are really starting to heat up…that is until Toni finds out that Ben is a vampire. With this newly learned information, Ben insists on protecting Toni as he says she is in danger just by associating with him. Toni doesn’t know what to do so she turns to an old college friend, a witch named Annie. Things take a disastrous turn after a visit with Annie leaves Toni in the Underworld.I really liked Toni. She was a strong, confident doctor until Ben came around. When Ben arrives she turns into jelly, becoming a babbling fool. The way they interact together is a little comical. As for Ben, he kind of creeped me out at first because I was figuring him out as Toni was. He just stares at Toni, looking deep into her eyes for no reason. One minute he’s across the room from her and in the blink of an eye he is beside her. It’s a lot of craziness until I find out that he’s a vampire. This was a short, fun read. It will capture your interest from the beginning and hold it until the very end. James gives great hints at Ben being a vampire but you still feel like you’re figuring it out piece by piece as Toni does. I love the way she had the characters interacting with one another, especially Ben and Toni’s attraction to each another. There are also some hints at Toni’s family and past that I can’t wait to find out more about. The only problem I had with the story was that it ended in a cliffhanger. I kept trying to turn the page because I couldn’t believe it was over!I would recommend this book to those who are fans of the paranormal and supernatural, especially those who find vampires appealing. Although classified as an adult read, there isn’t anything overly graphic about it so I think it would be suitable for young adults as well.Disclaimer:I received a copy of this book, at no charge to me, in exchange for my honest review.
