About book Broken Harbor (2012)

Damn, Tana French. This book really got under my skin. I love that each book is told from a different detective's perspective, so we already knew Det. Scorcher Kennedy from Faithful Place. French is SO good at writing love/hate narrators -- I spent the whole book trying to decide if I wanted to smack Kennedy or give him the hug he so clearly needed. Also gosh the descriptions of Broken Harbour were so so creepy. I hope that French eventually tries her hand at another genre. I'm not crazy about crime novels (sorry Alejandro), and I sometimes felt like having investigation procedure mandate the narrative structure was holding her back. I absolutely loved the first 80-85% of this book. It was definitely my favorite of the series. I liked how the detective on the case wasn't so overly involved in the mystery as in the previous books and I was just hooked from the beginning on the murder and the mystery surrounding it. The ending of the book wasn't bad necessarily but I felt there were a few things that weren't fully answered or that I just didn't like how they were wrapped up.

Do You like book Broken Harbor (2012)?

I liked this book. Sometimes it was a little hard as the story is told in one voice.
