About book Cat Tales (2011)

This is a great collection of short stories best read between Mercy Blade and Raven Cursed (Book 3 and 4) of the Jane Yellowrock series. Raven Cursed starts out hard and heavy with Jane back in North Carolina (as planned at the end of book 3) but it also throws in some information about Rick LeFleur that you might feel a little "when did that happen, and how" about. The final short story in this collection of four answers all of those questions. The first story details Jane first leaving the Children's Home when she's 18 and retracing her steps to rediscover Beast. I wish it had another "chapter" to it just to see how she felt after her first transformation in so many years, but it's nitpicking, really. The second story details how Rick LeFleur got those big-cat tattoos Jane's always wondering about and what their significance is. Turns out they're pretty important and there's some interesting foreshadowing from his "tattoo artist" in the process. (This story is told in a 3rd person narrative, from Rick's perspective)The third story explains in more detail the events that lead Jane & Beast to save Molly's little daughter Angelina from her own out of control powers. It also shows how much Beast cares for the kits and how Jane and Molly's friendship was cemented. They're super cheap to buy in e-book and a quick read at only ~110 pages. There's also a handy dandy little breakdown of the vampire clans as Jane (and the reader) understand them for this point in the series. There's another collection of stories that is best read later in the series and I'll review that when I get to it. This is definitely a welcome fleshing out of some of Jane's side points in the series. You won't be completely lost without it, but more information is always better than less. A nice collection of short stories taking place in the Jane Yellowrock universe. The short stories include how Jane "met" Beast, how Jane met Molly, and how Rick got his tattoos. One story takes place right where Mercy Blade left off. I would wait to read this until after reading Mercy Blade to avoid spoilers. Overall, fun short read. I enjoyed getting more of the back story on certain events that had been mentioned in passing in the books.

Do You like book Cat Tales (2011)?

It was fairly good, but for Jane's pov it felt like we were in Beast's pov the whole time.
