About book Children Make Terrible Pets Ba (2012)

Lucy Bear was practicing her twirls one day in the forest when she came across a small boy who she decided to adopt and name Squeaker. This story is a very creative and fun story about the alternative reality that animals had humans as pets. Squeaker does all the same things a new pet would do in your home. He makes messes, does not listen, and is just rowdy in general. She finally realizes that Squeaker needs to go home to his family and that he is not a very good pet for her family. I think that this is a wonderful story for children because it is not your typical pet story. I think that children will really enjoy reading this book and think that it is very comical. It will allow them to compare this story to themselves and their situations with their pets. This is a children’s book written by Peter Brown, about Lucy, a bear who begs her mother to keep a little boy that she found in the forest. Mom eventually agrees, and Lucy and the little boy play fun games together, eat and even nap together. The little boy gets the name Squeaker, since that is all he ever says. However, their new friendship was not all fun and games. Squeaker could not be potty trained and ruined everything. One day he disappears, and Squeaker was soon to be found at his family’s house. Maybe it is for the best that humans and animals are not raised together. The illustrations are very defining of the story. They are simple yet all in color to keep the eyes drawn to the page. I feel like the illustrations create depth with each page with Lucy and Squeaker. I think the age group for this book would be around 4-7. I also think this book is good for the classroom because different cultures and diverse students would enjoy it because it is so light-hearted.

Do You like book Children Make Terrible Pets Ba (2012)?

This book was such a cute and colorful story, with such a humorous twist. When a young bear named Lucy, discovers a lost little boy, she brings him home and asks her mother if she can keep him as a pet, later only to regret that decision. The story definitely shows children not to make hasty decisions without thinking of the consequences firsthand, as well as the importance of responsibility. The illustrations were very medium toned colors that blended together well. The tone of voice is incorporated in the sentence structure of the book, makes for a good read aloud book to read to students.

This was a story about a family of bears that owned a child as a pet. It was kind of like a flip of a normal story where a human family has a pet dog or cat. It described how the child needed potty training, how it chewed the furniture and other objects and how it ran away. In the end, the child that ran away had just gone back to living with his family but I thought the story was cute. The illustrations were very delicate pictures with light colors.
