About book Chocolate Wars: The 150-Year Rivalry Between The World's Greatest Chocolate Makers (2010)
This is a very good book. I love history and the author does a great job of telling the story about the world's favorite snack. Yes, there is a lot of Cadbury family history but it crucial in order to tell the story of how chocolate was developed from a drink to a candy snack. The Quakers had a particular influence on this industry, across Europe and America. Highly Recommended. Not only does this book teach you everything you've ever wanted to know about how the great chocolate dynasties started, why each one's chocolate tastes so different from the others, and why Cadbury is by far the best (well, it is!), it also reaffirmed for me why I've always hated Kraft with a passion, and that the world would be pretty much perfect if Quakers were in charge. It's an excellent, excellent book. Read it.Warning, though - if you're a person who indulges every chocolate craving, this book will probably make you fat. I haven't eaten chocolate for years, and I thought I was immune to the stuff, but... wow, this book makes you want the ol' childhood faves like whoa!
