I was intrigued with this series because it is set in my hometown of Flint, MI. For natives, it will not disappoint. Obviously written by someone who knows Flint pretty well, the first book in this series revolves around the ill-fated high school romance of Malek and Halleigh, two teens who seem to be on the verge of having the world at their feet. Of course, hard knock reality settles in and the two go from having it to all to surviving the gritty streets of Flint. There are elements of the story that are clichéd and stereotypical (pimps, hos, etc…), as far as urban fiction goes. But the character that pulls me in, quite honestly, is the city of Flint. The author’s description of places, landmarks and events in Flint make the city the book’s best character by far. Malek , Halleigh and a host of other characters are written well and add enough weight to the series that you want to know what happens to them next. I’m looking forward to completing the series. i like the book "flintThis book since i started to read itit was so interesting to me, it inspire me so much, because it talks about somebody's life in this book and so many true love my character she is a teenager and she is nice, honest, believer i say this because she treats her mom nice and her mom treats like if she is not her daughter that is yo say she is nice, and she is honest because she never lies toher mom especially to her boyfriend, she tells him everything ,also she is a believer because since her boyfriend mom does not likes her and thinks she is a hoe,she says bad comments about her and says that was her son that said it and that was not him.what i don't like about this story that the author should of zoom into smaller moments, like less things about their life, but the mostimportant ones to write, and what i like about this book is that when you read it you could visualize it like if u are the character of the bookespecially when they are big problems.people that likes novel books should come to 145 street new york city library and look for the book flintbye..,friends :p
