About book De Donkerste Weg (2011)

This is the first Tami Hoag novel I've read but it probably won't be the last. This story is about a mother who's daughter has been missing for 4 years. She knows who is responsible, but no one has any proof. The police seem to have lost interest, so she takes matters into her own hand. It's not as good or well-written as Henning Mankell, but the suspense continues throughout the novel and makes the reader keep wanting to read more and at the same time, dreading what might happen next. Great if you don't have blood pressure or heart trouble. This was a little slower to grab me than the other books in this series, but by the end I was gasping out loud & shuddering a bit here and there. It ended up being a great read. As a mother, it would be hard for me to imagine what it would feel like if my daughter was abducted and killed by a serial killer. Somehow Tami Hoag was able to capture those feelings--the self doubt, the loathing, the pain.I highly recommend this for those that like thriller/mysteries!
