About book Death Has A Daughter (2014)

Cendall, like her name, is unique in many ways. First female reaper. Oh yeah! What starts out as a common task, or as common a task for a person that collects souls could be, soon turns into intrigue and questioning. Without going into specific details, let me just say that I found myself asking woah! Wait.. What? While not entirely a cliff hanger, this book does leave you asking for more! Overall this was a well written and well executed book. The emotions and thoughts of Cendall were overwhelming in the sense that in reading, I found myself thinking like Cendall. In my opinion that author but the mark with this reader. I'm eagerly getting ready to start book two! Cendall is the first female ever to be born to the Grim Reaper Race. She is Death's daughter. After completing her training, she graduates top of the class, and is given her first list of souls she needs to collect before the year is out. She just turned 17, and the list seems long, but she jumps right in, with her dad's scythe in hand. One of the souls on her list is young, same age as her, and is surrounded by Guardians, those who try to stop the Reapers collecting the souls. After a series of things that dont quite make sense, Cendall is left in charge of her "soul" Lacie, and the Guardian, Trevor. Cendall isn't quite sure that Lacie should even be on the list.Cute, is the word that springs to mind with this book!As I began, I thought this would be a younger young adult book, as the main charcater is still only 16 at the beginning. But as the story develops, so does Cendall, and although its still a young adult book, IN MY OPINION, it hits the older end of the scale, 16plus. Its fairly clean, just some serious experimental kissing, which made me chuckle, the way that came about, but it does get a little messy when the Guardians and Reapers and Demons have a set to.Well written, with hints dropped along the way to keep you going, no info dump at the beginning, it comes in dribs and drabs. Cendall grows a great deal in this book, emotionally, and she makes some discoveries that shatter her world. She deals with them well, being only 17, and I am intrigued enough to say, I will follow her in the next book. The main story here is fully resolved, however the discoveries that Cendall makes are NOT resolved. Not really a cliff hanger, though.4 solid young adult fangsReviewer for Paranormal Romance and Authors That Rock
