About book Deslumbrante (2013)

I thought this book started really well, I really loved how this book immediately portrayed a strong female lead character who strongly believed in justice for her father even though all evidence pointed towards him. I also enjoyed that this story did portray the hardships of going through a marriage, and that love was possible even in the most unexpected of places. I picked up this book because I liked the title, and the story ended up being really sweet and really nice, so I enjoyed it quite a lot. Absolutely Amazing! One of the best Regency Romances I've read! I loved this story because of it's realism. It really takes you into the time frame with far more boldness and outright honesty than most Regency romances will give you. Instead of just telling us that the hero is/was "a rake", we actually see what it meant to be a "rake". Too often that term is glossed over to just mean a man who had mistresses or went to brothels. Oh, no. Hunter used a few subtle scenes to illustrate just the kind of deviant behavior that once typified the English aristocracy. It isn't just provocative, but serves a purpose. After all, the heart and soul of the "reformed rake" takes on a whole new meaning when we understand just what kind of debauchery he was once involved in. =)
