About book Detective Comics, Vol. 1: Faces Of Death (2012)

Meh. It wasn't great but it also wasn't terrible. Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo's Batman was more my style. This felt a little lack luster at times. The main reason I bought it was so that I got the story where the Joker gets his face skinned off before I read Death of the Family. But that was such a small part of it. I really did like the Dollmaker as a villain. Found him to be pretty creepy. But I loathe and despise the Penguin, so I wasn't really into the second half. Honestly I think this one got a little too convoluted, or else maybe there were too many characters to deal with here. The art was good, the narration was good to the point that I could hear it in my head when it wasn't actually there. The story is far from over, which is probably what makes this one frustrating. The biggest draw is the set up to the 'Death of the Family' arc but as for this Penguin stuff? We'll have to see here.

Do You like book Detective Comics, Vol. 1: Faces Of Death (2012)?

Enjoyed the artwork, decent storyline but nothing I feel the urge to go out and get my own copy for.
