About book Double Crossed: A Spies And Thieves Story (2013)

In Double Crossed: A Spies and Thieves Story by Ally Carter does a great job of creating a mysterious and heart racing book. When terrorist come and try to keep the party guest as hostages, the two main characters,Macey McHenry and W.W.Hale come together and save the guest of the party. Ally carter also portrays how you can't always see someone's true colors, or tell who a person really is just by looking at them. In my opinion I think this was a great book just because it left me on the edge of my seat multiple times as well as creating a very clear picture in my head. Ally carter is really specific when it comes to the detail and it made it a lot easier to understand what was happening and how the characters act. The only thing I would change about it was the way the terrorist were. They were a little to exaggerated to me. The thing I liked most though was how Macey, the mayors daughter turns out to be this great spy and you would never know by looking at her. She's know as this perfect girl, someone who doesn't get into trouble, but in all actuality she is a tom boy almost. Them W.W. Hale the boy Macey finds highly attractive is a typical spy if you ask me. He is quite but serious and all the ladies love him. He and Macey come together and they end up working better together than you think they would. Ally carter creates good messages through out the book. For example: she shows that you can't always see how a person acts by looking at them, she shows how people can work together even when you don't know them, and lastly I think it shows how girls can be just as good as a boy at certain things. There's a lot of excitement and you are left wanting to read more. I would recommend this book mainly to anyone who like mysteries and anything that has to do with spies. I think that anyone would like to read this book. Overall I would give this book a five out five and I would read it again. When Macey meets Hale at a social gala, she immediately notices him because he is different. After seeing Hale "steal" the phone of one of the guests, Macey becomes interested. When the night takes a dangerous turn, Macey, Hale, Kat and Abby must work together to save the room full of upper class hostages.I started reading the Gallagher Girls series about two years ago, and I fell in love with both the characters and the story! I loved all four girls equally, but I must say that Macey was the most interesting character for me, so I was really glad to read this story from her point of view. It made me really happy to see Macey and Abby again, and meet two new characters too!I have not yet read the Heist Society series, but Hale and Kat seemed like amazing characters, so I will surely be reading that series soon! It was amazing seeing the thieves and the spies working together, and I really enjoyed this one! I can't wait for more Kat and Hale! I really regret not reading this sooner!I recommend people to try this if you want to read either of the series and are having doubts. Through this novella, you can catch a glimpse of both worlds. Plus, it's free! So what are you guys still waiting for? Read this now!
