About book Drawing The Line (2013)

This 115 page novella follows the novella LOVE ON THE LINE. This one centers around Jason Morgan, a detective and brother of Violet Morgan. Jason is also the detective partner of Noah Blackwell. [Noah and Violet were the main characters in the first in the series, LOVE ON THE LINE.]This novella is as delightful as the first one was. It's relatively short and in this day of so many authors padding their novels with redundancy and way too much rambling to fill pages, it was refreshing! Yes, you know where the plot will end up, but that's what romance is about as a genre. What I did find refreshing about Jason and Serenity was the lack of "hiding secrets" ploy of some authors to drag out their story lines ad nauseum. In this novella, you get two different people who are, above all else, honorable human beings. Ms Kincaid provided me with two novellas that were well written and which provided me with a delightful couple of hours during a nasty storm. I will look for more books by this talented author. After reading Love on the Line I had high hopes for Drawing the Line and Kimberly Kincaid did not disapoint. After walking in and finding one of her employees stabbed and unconscious on the the floor of her diner Serinity is attacked. After identifying her attacker she is put in the protective custody of Jason. He is the detective that comes to her diner every Wednesday. Sparks fly but can Jason let something other than the job into his heart? This was a fun quick read. It was refreshing to read about a female who new her mind and wasn't afraid of her feelings. The only issue I had was the very beginning. It kind of felt like I jumped in at the middle of a story but it only took a couple of pages to become totally engrossed.
