About book El Dilema De Jules (2014)

Reading this novella was a perfect way to get back into the spirit of the series as well as refresh my memory before reading If I Should Die, the final book in the series.Die For her is a novella written from Jules' perspective and it's basically a summary of everything essential that happens during the first two books in the series. In addition to that we get to see how Vincent slowly developed an obsession with Kate and how gradually Jules himself fell in love with her. I really liked Jules' voice, his narrative. He's a great character and the way he feels about Kate brought tears to my eyes. The sincerety of his feelings really touched me as did the boundless devotion to Vincent as his best friend. I really enjoyed this read and I'm so happy I remembered to read it before If I Should Die. Getting back into the series will be much easier with this refresher. I like novellas because the really good ones add something to the story. Whether this action between the stories or a very important scene from another character's point of view, it just makes you look at the story in a completely different light. This didn't do that.I had really high hopes for this because I like Jules. He was that suave, flirty friend that I really did want to know more about as the series went on. (Him and Ambrose, who was sneaky about becoming a favorite.) And I was so excited that we'd get to see parts from his POV.Unfortunately, all it really did was rehash not only the first book, but the second as well from his POV. And it was rushed. Really rushed. Just when you'd start getting the groove going, "Oh yeah, I remember this from the books," it would change again. And it was really hard to believe that this Jules is the same Jules from the story.Let me try to explain that last part better. He's still undoubtedly the flirtatious, goofy Jules. But he's slow about showing his unrequited feelings in the series, and this seemed to come on quickly, maybe because of how this is a short novella and it needed to be developed quickly. Most of the scenes in this story are straight out of the series, and shortened at that. It was really hard to get a grip on really anyone. It wasn't frustrating, exactly, but it wasn't laid-back and pleasant either.I mean, after all that, I still liked it. I enjoy seeing stories from a different perspective. It's why I'm such a fan of books like The Goddess Legacy or Scarlet. They tell the same story but from a different eye. And that makes it a totally different story.

Do You like book El Dilema De Jules (2014)?

This book didn't give much in terms of adding new information to the general story, instead being a retelling of the previous events, that happened in the first two installments, now written from Jules's POV. I like Jules as a character, I think he's funny and very charming. And it was very interesting to learn more of his story, where he came from and whether he is confortable with his fate. I suspected all along that he was in love with Kate, so this short novella wasn't a surprise for me. I would have liked this story more if it gave some really worthy information, something that wasn't told yet or suspected about. But with the way it was, the book was a bit boring (hence the rating), so it's short length was deffinitely a plus for me.

I like Vincent. Really I do and I think that he is right for Kate, but it still sucks that Jules couldn't have her. Jules loves Kate and yet he can't have her. He flirts with her contently and telling her how he feels but making sure he didn't cross the line. And all because Vincent and him been best friends forever and he would NEVER EVER do that to him. That right there is a true friend and I hope that he finds his true love. And if he doesn't I think that I'm going to cry.
