About book El Hombre Inquieto (2009)

Really a good read. Mankell has been recommended to me very strongly and I finally broke down (because I finally found a Swedish online bookstore I could afford). This is a very well constructed novel, with a well-thought out plot, interesting characters, and story that keeps you involved. This is the last (the most recent, but also, according to the author's indication, the last of the series) book in the Kurt Wallander series. I'm going to go back a read the first one, then see if I'll continue from there. Many thanks to KP for recommending Mankell so strongly. A fitting end to the Kurt Wallender series - I hate to see it end. I enjoyed how he finds the answer to the disappearance of his daughter's future father-in-law in spite of the fading of his mental faculties. He fears what he feels is the inevitable, after all, his father has Alzheimer's, and knows that this will most likely be his final case. He deals with everything realistically.I could not put this one down.

Do You like book El Hombre Inquieto (2009)?

I made it about 1/3 of the way, and it just isn't all that good, I'm afraid. Slow/boring.

Awful. The most risible ending I've read. Anger-inducingly bad.

I love the show on PBS and just had to get the whole story.
