About book El Prisionero Del Cielo (2011)

I totally enjoyed all three books in the Shadow of the Wind Trilogy . In fact I love all Ruiz Zafons work , I read Shadow years ago and it was the first book I read after a break in reading for a couple of years once I read it I couldn't wait for more of his work to be published in uk. Each book can be read as stand alones but I feel that I would not have "got" entirely what these books were about if I read them in the wrong order . Loved this book to pieces and seeing it here's made me want to re read all his books again . Gothic , war story , tragedy, but most of all they are books about books, libraries, mystery and passion . Not forgetting a slight Dystopian theme too . I totally enjoyed all three books in the Shadow of the Wind Trilogy . Do You like book El Prisionero Del Cielo (2011)?

Don't expect this book to conclude in a satisfactory fashion; it merely left me hungry for the next instalment. Whilst it felt rushed and like a back story to some greater narrative yet to be told, I never lost faith with Zafon, who is a great literary talent and no doubt has the next phase of the series already planned out. It did leave me impatient for the rest. Luckily I have The Miniaturist by Jessie Burton to tuck in to.

I enjoyed Angel's Game and Prisoner of Heaven much more after re-reading them together with Shadow of the Wind than when I read them the first time as they were published. Neither one equals Shadow of the Wind, but it's fun to immerse yourself in the Library of Forgotten Books once again. And, we are surely being set up for #4? There were a few discrepancies in the plot that I hope Zafon clarifies in future novels.

I enjoyed this book. Fast paced as compared to The Angel's game.
