Pirate's were new for me. I liked that this book was different. It was an interesting story, and I did enjoy it. I just hoped for a bit more. I didn't really fall in love with Hendrix. He was kind of a jerk the entire time. They had some pretty sexy scenes but even those didn't win my affection for him. I think the next book could be interesting but I'm not willing to spend the money. If it were cheaper I would totally read it. Not a bad read. I think the whole idea of modern day pirates was brilliant. The story started good but falls into the trap of most historical pirate books. Specifically, the h falls for the H quickly and then is the loser who pathetically wants his love. I wish it was the H that wanted her more. After they are finally intimate the H treats her like dirt but then wants her to strip for him bc he wants more sex. What does the h do? She complies and is more than pleased to do it. I wanted the H to show us his possessive, alpha male side. He seemed to have everything he wanted and never had to try. The h's story was dumb bc her crazy ex that she shot was alive and tried to kill her again so the h ended up shooting him a second time. I think the next story will be very similar. Still there was a lot that was left unanswered and the h rejoined the H too quickly after her escape. Once she returned that was the end of any conflict btw them. The H in the second book sounds amazing and I hope the h is softer than the dummy in this book. I will definitely be continuing this series.
