Again a 2 1/2 - 3 star book. Possibly even 2 star.All my criticisms of the previous entries in the series continue to apply. Simple writing. Simple, one-dimentional characters. A paranoid, anti-federalist plot-line of absurd proportions continues to be developed. The book is marginally entertaining, but at least from my view this rates a severe drop from book 1. Again, it annoys me that these characters - stuck in a post-apocolpytic landscape where civilization collapse - continue to obtain resources that defeat the main argument (self-preparedness) of the book. The characters eat quite well, and do quite well by supplies. This time they are fully armed - complete with mortars and grenade launchers!Silly drivel.Too bad.I may finish the 4th and final book (at least I hope it's final) to complete the series. But I can not say I would recommend these works to others. I was a little disappointed in this third book (as was many others from the reviews), not in the content, but in the non-ending. That's what another reviewer called it and it fits. Seeing as there is no mention of a forth book at this time I was anticipating some sort of ending to the government pressure, FEMA refugee camps, and civilian militia offenses. Instead it comes to slow simmer with no real ending and one more plan of attack by our heroes. There must be another book coming, that's the only thing that makes sense. I'm looking forward to it!First read 1/6/2014; re-read before proceeding with "Forsaking Home".
