About book Etiquette & Espionage (2013)

I started out with high hopes for this book cause how much better can you get, assassins at an etiquette school? And its steampunked?? Right?Ill admit I was shocked, it was nothing what I thought it was gonna be. I was really, really interested. I absolutely love the main character, she's sassy, sneaky, doesn't listen to anybody. I love that! When she was learning I was learning and it was fun to hear her thoughts and questions in her head as she was learning. Usually something as slow "paced" as this in a sense makes me want to just stop and forget the book but I really enjoyed that kind of feel to this book. As the story went on more things began to happen, the more exciting the book started to be and in the end it is one that I would not mind reading again, I will go ahead and start book two to see what other adventures our character goes through.I would recommend this book for anyone that likes the steampunk era, as well a rebellious girl who gets things done. Etiquette & Espionage by Gail Carriger is a steampunk novel in which Sophronia, the Temminnick's very unladylike youngest daughter, is sent off to a Finishing School which turns out to be much more than it appears. As I read I became aware that the Finishing School books take place chronologically before the Parasol Protectorate series, which I have also read. This first book is full of fun, adventure, ridiculously enjoyable names, and a perfectly adorable mechanimal(a mechanical steampunk dog!) Oh, and flywaymen an interesting take on the traditional highwaymen. Light, clever, and entertaining.
