About book Fast Ein Date (2012)

This was...fine. Rich man pretends to be poor man so woman will like him for him, woman tries not to fall in love with charming man. Add child to the mix,to make her unique from other women.Don't get me wrong, there were some sweet moments in here, but these romances are feeling formulaic :/And women- stop self-sacrificing because "he deserves so much better than me", dammit! It's frustrating to read, and even more frustrating to read knowing how many women can completely relate. :(I really liked Catherine Bybee's "Wife by Wednesday", so I'm continuing to read her books- and this one was, as I said, fine. Entertaining, but it didn't get me all gooey, and I don't know that I will remember this couple "forevers and evers". So far I am enjoying the sequel to this book more than the original.Favorite bits:a man being described as "calorically challenged"A woman, whose body was deemed "Surgery-stabilized""The crowded mall melted away and the chore of shopping in the holiday shuffle felt less bleak"ahh...that hit a chord for me. I've had exactly that experience of being with somebody who just makes even the tedious bits of life a little bit (or a lot) better.insight into men-"I'm not usually sso darn helpless""are you kidding? You feed my ego, lady. There's nothing better for me to do than take away all the bad things that happen."I liked the way she described that- he didn't WANT her falling on hard times, didn't feel the need to rescue her, but had good feelings when he did."Kids dream a little bigger than adults do. I think it's part of the innocence."Yepp. Hard to pinpoint when exactly it happens. Not Quite Dating is not quite a heavy story (which is refreshing and made me giggle with them whenever they are together). It has the sensible, sweet and smart gentleman that wasn't quite lucky to find his love until... her and her son. I admire how the author illustrated different kinds of women in here and how they handled their own decisions and dispositions, their opinions and their ideas which gives a female reader to reflect on something about dating.
