About book Fyre (2013)

This book is about Septimus Heap ,a wizard apprentice that was thought dead for the first ten years of his life. This book is heavy centered around "The Two Faced Ring" , a dark and powerful ring. Saying when or who stole the ring, would ruin the biggest plot twist in the book. Septimus' dragon Spitfyre also ha a very big role in this story. I really loved the amount of magic that was in this book. The character's motivation came mostly from his pure heart and desire to do good. After reading the first six book, Septimus became the brother I always wanted but never got. The plot was clean, lovely and, spotless with no plot holes I could find. The resolution felly short of what I hoped, Spetimus the 7th son of the 7th son and the 777th Extraordinary wizard ( 7 is the magic number) calmly lived out his life after the book ends. His entry in the epilogue was about a quarter of a page, while some of the less important characters got several pages! The writing was great; the small bits of humor that are said without braking the current tone just make me laugh every time. This book reminded me heavily of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows", because of its easy to follow plot and fun characters; it may be part of the reason I absolutely love it. This book relates to me by making Septimus a simple kid who doesn't like many people and loves magic. "Fyre" also reminds me of "The Immortal, Nickolas Flammel" series because of the heavy use of magic. The bad really remind me of the T.V. show the three stooges with their running into each other and clumsiness. Because of how people are blissfully unaware of the fact that their town is in dire danger, I reminds me of todays world. Overall, I really liked the book; I especially liked the depth at which they explained how the magic worked. I did not however, like the fact the series ended with little epilogue. I would recommend this to any magic lovers like myself who loved "Harry Potter", or "Merlin" for the composition is very similar. I also recommend it to mystery reader because an element of mystery is defiantly present. Lastly, I recommend it, and all of its prequels, to Mrs. Kramm, since no one loved harry potter more than her. Begin with Magyk, end with Fyre. I love this series. It's not deep or life changing, or a masterpiece of literature, it's just a fun read. I enjoyed every character whether I loved them or hated them. Angie Sage created characters that I wanted to know more and more about. I will be reading the next series (TodHunter Moon) at some point, just not yet.Oh, and Mark Zug was a brilliant illustrator for these books.
