About book Goodnight Tweetheart (2010)

This a very short read. About 210 pages for the Ebook version. I bought it loving the blurb on the back - "A love story in 140 characters or less". Not only was this different but in this technological age, seemed quite realistic than any other love story I could read. The protagonist Abby's character was quite well developed, and captured the anxiety of trusting someone online along wither her own issues quite well. I loved the tweets between her and Mark. The quirky conversations were filled with references only a travelista and/or a bookworm would understand, and reading through, I could only wish that one day have the same weird and perfectly acceptable conversation with my guy ;)The only reason I gave this book a 4 star is because I needed closure. Some sort of epilogue that will tell me how everything ended for both Abby and Mark. That's all. Otherwise, on a whole it was a fun and a worthwhile read with a few laughs and a little angst thrown it. A perfect blend. OMG! What can I say about this amazing book. I loved the movie "You Got Mail" with Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan, and after reading the description for "Goodnight Tweetheart" I downloaded a copy to my kindle. I am SO happy that I did.Abby Donovan is a first time author who's book went to the top of the NYT Best Sellers list, was a Oprah Book Club pick and almost won the Pulitzar. She has been working on her second book for so long that her publisher drops her. Stuck on Chapter 5, she fears that she was a one hit wonder. That is when her agent sets her up with a Twitter account so that she can converse with her readers, get her name out there, and possibly get new followers/stalkers/predators.Mark Baynard is a English Professor at Ol' Miss on sabatical to see the world and write the next American Novel. By chance he meets Abby on Twitter and the two of them strike up funny, whitty, ROLFLMBO banter that keeps the reader hooked. From Mark teaching Abby "Twitter 101", to "Twitter Dates", to "Views from his iPhone and her Laptop", this story made me roll for the first 12 chapters. But Mark is hiding a HUGE secret that broke my heart, his heart and Abby's as well. I don't want to give it away, so there will be no spoilers, but I can promise you that if you hang on till the end, these "Tweetheart" will find a HEA.I am so greatful that I picked up a copy of "Goodnight Tweetheart". I would recommend this book to all my friends, my family and anyone that just wants to curl up with a really really really GREAT book. I will be looking for more from this author.
