About book Home By Morning (2010)

Although I am a huge history buff, I have never read anything from this era. A friend sent it to me and I thought, "If this doesn't catch my attention in the first chapter or so, I probably won't read it." We'll, once I read the chemistry between Dr. Jessica Layton and Cole, I was instantly hooked. She is nothing and everything like most "heroines" in romance. She is strong and knows what she wants but at the same time she has that one weakness, Cole! Takes you back a bit to see how living used to be with one phone (for the entire town), one Dr and no hospital. All in all, this is a good old fashioned love story that I would recommend to anyone! Jessica comes home for a visit, she is now a doctor on her way to accept a job in Seattle, when a plague breaks out and there is no doctor in town to help. The plague is virulent, and strikes all age groups. Cole appears to be the one in town whom everyone turns to for answers, it seems that the town thinks he has been “keeping company” with Jessica’s sister, and it’s up to him weather Jessica stays and ministers to the towns people. The story is memorable, gives you a glimpse of how things were out west during WWI, and the settlement of those cities.

A pleasure to read, an easy read with a predictable love story but I quite enjoyed this one.
