An intriguing premise - a button collector as the sleuth. What a true cozy mystery! But the book seemed rushed, as though the writer was under a deadline that had already passed. Character development ran shallow. I finished the book last night and the only character I remember is Kaz, the ex-husband. The protagonist dashes from one crisis to the next. All I know about Nev is that his hair hangs in his eyes. I would have liked more description, more world building. I think this book was thin. This second book wasn't as good as the first. I guessed the killer too soon and the other 'issues' going on. Josie seemed too naive in this book which I really didn't like. I'm having trouble envisioning the characters. I need more than tall, lanky and messy hair to picture Nev. Shortening both Kaz and Nev's names seems a little odd to me for some reason. And just when I think Nev shows a little promise to be sweet, he gets all business on Josie. I almost felt like he was using her at times. I waiting for him to get sick of Kaz constantly being around as well. The characters are still all likable for the most part though. I'll be reading the rest of the series.
I preferred the first installment of the Button Box Mystery Series but this was still enjoyable.
