About book Hrej Férově (2014)

This is the 3rd book in Emma Hart’s “The Game” series. I was introduced to this series through twitter when someone posted the new cover art for the first two in the series, The Love Game & Playing For Keeps. The Right Moves is all about Abbi Jenkins who we are briefly introduced to in The Love Game as she is main character Maddie’s best friend. We don’t really know too much about her other than that she was living in a mental institution because she had tried to take own life. The story follows her move back home and her continuing recuperation.Emma has taken us back home with Abbi and has carefully structured her story to include flash backs which allow you to fully understand her past and her reasons for being the girl she is. But The Right Moves is very much about Abbi’s future and where she goes from here.I am quite naïve in my experience of mental health issues as I have been fortunate in that it hasn’t touched anyone in my immediate family, limiting my exposure to it. Emma has delicately written about the subject, not hiding the raw and bare facts of the truth when it comes to a mental illness like depression which Abbi suffers. I think the fact that the story was so raw it really exposed you it the ugly side of it but it also showed you the opposite side. The recovery, the regaining of control, the recapturing of self-belief and a belief in self-worth and for Abbi that really came from support from her family, friends and Blake.Blake is a gorgeous character. He’s British which sets him apart from Abbi and makes for some fun reading as there is some gentle teasing between the characters as their nationalities clash (the whole sidewalk/pavement thing), but he has also suffered, although not directly, from depression and is able to provide a safety net for Abbi when she needs it.I really enjoyed reading this story. It was quite different from the first two in that it was a bit darker and explored some darker issues but the handling of those issues made it interesting and realistic which had me hooked. I read it quite quickly and didn’t want to put it down. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series now! This book is an amazing story about two people who are on a journey of self-healing and figuring out who and where they want to be. When their worlds collide together neither expected the other, especially the sparks that kindle between them. This book took me on one emotional roller coaster ride. It had me laughing, crying, frustrated, laugh/crying all the way from beginning to the end. From the very first page, I was pulled in and held captive by this story. Abbi and Blake’s journey is a rough one. They feel such heartbreak, that you feel it with them. They go through an extremely emotional time dealing with some difficult topics like depression, abuse, and suicide. They are two broken people who found and complete each other. Together they help the other to rise above the darkness. The right moves is an extremely well written story that has it all with heartbreak, love, friendship, and family. Emma Hart has crafted an amazing book that pulls you in and lets one feel all the pain, heartbreak, love, and success with the characters. I can’t wait to see where Emma will take us with her next book.*** I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review***
