About book I Heart Paris (2000)

Angela Clark is back in London after her adventures in LA, very much in love with Alex, her rock star boyfriend and still writing for The Look. All is well until Alex suggest a short trip to Paris, where his band is to perform next. Coincidentally, around the same time, she gets asked to write a piece on 'fashion in Paris' for the famous Belle magazine. Since she is no fool to turn down a once - in - a - blue moon opportunity, she decides to accompany her boyfriend to the City of Love! But from the time she set foot in Paris, everything starts to fall out of place and order. First, her trolley bag containing all her precious clothes plus the ones Jenny loaned her gets blown to teeny tiny pieces. Then she sees her boyfriend get too cosy with his ex - girlfriend who is determined to win him back at any cost! In the midst of her personal drama, her article research is going down the drain, threatening to take her career along with it. At the verge of a nervous breakdown, Angela decides that the best way to solve her problems is to run away from it! Well, this was one of those feel good books that was both cute and funny! Perfect for a light reading! So, I've just finished reading this book. I have to say, I'm not THAT impressed. I really liked the first book and the second one was even better and I couldn't wait to start reading this one. I got it at the begging of the week and I couldn't read it immediately because I have promised not to read books on school days, so I had to wait untill Friday. I read 30 pages on Monday and it was killing me the fact that I couldn't continue. Friday finally came and i took the book immediately, read about 100 pages and I fell asleep. Literally. I did get up at 5:30 at that day but still...The main problem about this sequel is the fact that I read mote than a half of the book and it happened...nothing. The begging was promising and the whole Paris-love-Alex-ex-girlfriend thing was really intriguing and it could have been such a great plot but instead we got just a slow, O.K., kinda boring story. I mean, the thing with Solene could work out to something really dramatic and interesting, but it didn't. Also, the job which Angela had to do for the important french fashion magazine could have been better developed and simply written better. We never saw this mean, strict editor she was so afraid to meet. :/ I don't know. That Virginie girl was funny and interesting. I imagined her as this little but really quick and chatty girl, almost like an elf :D but she couldn't replace Jenny. I needed jenny here and I didn't get her. Jenny is one-of-a-kind and she is a character that makes me happy and keeps me in the book when Angela does stupid, irrational and annoying things. She also did that in this sequel although it was very short and it was on the phone, but still... Go, Jenny! :DThe next thing that really bothered me was the romance thing between Alex and Angela. I really hate her when it comes to her relationship with Alex. She never talks with him, never ask him, she just makes these stupid decisions and she feels sorry because of it. Uhhh... She always questions him and that makes me so mad. Hasn't he proven to you already that he loves you? You don't have to meet his ex and believe everything she says just because you are afraid to tell him that you love him. O.K. I have to stop thinking about that, otherwise I will be mad the next three days. I just love Alex and Angela really drove me crazy in this one. I think that the plot kinda started to get interesting the very last 50 pages. From that point things were kinda making me interested and curious. I don't know. The whole book was really slow and it didn't make feel like I can't put it down like it happened with the second one. I did put this one down and I read on Saturday after I had read "A Walk To Remember" and watched the same titled movie. The end did left a small cliffhanger and I won't give up on these series because I still have hope that they get better in the next three books. I really hope they do otherwise I'll be really angry. I'll start the next one probably next week and we'll see if Vegas is better than Paris.

Do You like book I Heart Paris (2000)?

Připadá mi, že by z toho byla typická americká komedie. 4,5 hvězdičky :)
