About book If I Must (2009)

3.5 starsLook, peeps, this has a kitten on the cover, yeah? Need I say anything else? This was totally adorbs, fluffy, and sweet. Loved the brilliant, geeky, totally spacey Aussie, Ian, and his roommate Joel, a Hispanic computer programmer. Ian forgets to eat and clean, and perpetually meets people while he's half-naked. Joel keeps Ian's life organized and falls for Ian in the process. It's a good thing Joel's feelings are returned. This is a lovely, low-angst Lane story, like a slightly sweet, spiked glass of eggnog. Holidays not necessary to enjoy. synopsis:joel has been ian's roommate for several months, and he has become the brilliant man's keeper, making sure that he eats and that he gets where he needs to go when he needs to be there. when joel has to leave for a few days, he makes sure that everything is set up for ian. while he is away, he talks about ian incessantly to his sister and his mother, and they inform him that he is gay. once joel becomes used to the idea, he can't believe he never saw it himself. when ian calls all torn up about the fact that the cat that he adopted has to be put down, joel does everything that he can to get back to ian before he has a complete meltdown. what i liked: the premise. what i didn't like: ian was a complete nutter, and joel kept pieces of himself hidden from the man that he supposedly loves.
