This was great! Quite unusual for a shortie, I thought, but that makes it even better because there were elements in this I really didn't expect.This story is like a little piece of life taken out and put on display - there's obviously been tons of stuff going on before this plays out and there's going to be a lot more after. The interesting bit is the dichotomy of the content - it starts off like a nice, fluffy, easy read, where the worst part of Cade's trip to meet Aidan's family is Aidan's standoffish mother. But underlying the bright, jovial setting is something darker, something with a sinister, desperate flair to it, and it clings to Cade as part of his past, unbeknown to Aiden. And when past meets present as Aidan's family meets Cade, a dreamy trip could make a nightmarish turn.Kate Sherwood really knows how to write - she's carving her way to an auto-buy status with me with every book of hers I read. An amazing read - wonderfully emotional and suspenseful.It's really hard to pack such a punch in a story this short, but Kate Sherwood gets full marks and my total respect. It was incredible to see the emotion in every word the characters spoke and in every gesture they made, and I loved the way the plot unfolded.I won't say more because I don't want to spoil the plot, but I can wholeheartedly recommend this story to anyone.I'm left completely in love with this couple and surrounded by a warm pink haze of perfect romance... Can't wait to read more by this author.Goddamn, I really am turning into a complete sap.
