About book Jill Kismet - Totenzirkus (2011)

I enjoyed Flesh Circus. I liked that Saul was back for this book but I don't really feel like he was given the amount of time he deserved. I also liked that this was about a demon circus. I could see that happening and how people might respond to the siren's call and how the hunter simply had to let it happen because in the end it helped her city. I also liked the suspense of the voodoo queens' deaths and such. It was a fairly quick read. What i didn't like was that you never really found out what was bothering Saul when it came to Jill's relationship with him. Overall, this was a pretty good book. I would recommend it to anyone who likes urban fantasies but I do suggest you read the first 3 books before you read this one. An enjoyable romp again, lots of gore. Not sure Saul's behavior is representative, he seems too self-effacing/passive to be a were-cougar. Not sure that someone as damaged as the main character would be able to be this functional, efficient and capable, even with all the 'training'; the fact that she falls apart, and sobs, quite regularly, makes her vulnerability seem totally obvious, not at all hidden or trained out of her.
