About book Knitter In His Natural Habitat (2012)

I put this one off for a while because frankly, I just didn't like Stanley all that much in the other books. What I knew about him, didn't interest me. But I wanted to read the new one, so I couldn't bring myself to actually SKIP this one...I was SOOO wrong. This is probably the best of the first three anyway, I'll reserve judgment until I finish the next one, but this is my favorite now. The story had the potential to be completely predictable. It was like she went into this story just accepting that, like taking some ready-made dinner entree thing and then just going crazy with fresh ingredients and making it her own satisfying gourmet meal. I *cried* at the end, smiling and gooey inside. I don't typically cry for books. I'm very stoic and observant, and oh, well, that's a very interesting dynamic when it comes to the emotional pull of a story. Maybe it's the knitting that got to me. I especially appreciated the ending, because it wasn't over the top, and it didn't just wrap everything up unrealistically, it was a perfect balance of everything. Seriously. That was just gorgeous. I'm going back to my sock knitting project for a bit. This one I want to soak in for a while before I start the next book in my pile.My two favorite things:1. The Chapter Titles.2. Hanks Balls(Thank you) 3.5 stars--Not my favorite story of the series, but a sweet read nonetheless. I really liked Stanley and Johnny. The severity of what happened to Jeremy didn't seem to fit with the overall tone of the book, of the series. I felt the story dragged a bit, especially at the end. As much as I enjoyed the series, I'm ready to move on to something different. Having read all four books back-to-back, I feel like I've overdosed on cuteness.
