About book La Caída De Los Reinos (2013)

Falling Kingdom is one of the books I would recommend to anyone who loves fantasy genre. The beginning of the story, I have to be honest that I was a little lost (I was lost in just chapter 3!) because too many characters were introduced. The storyline went well raging about the greed and jealousy of humans. My favourite character in the book is Magus the prince who was covered with pain from living in his father's shadow and his forbidden love, forced to tear away from his actually kind personality, build a wall of ice around his heart to prevent his heart from hurting again. He is the most developed character and the only character whose actions taken in the book were justified (e.g. how bad he felt when he kill Theorn and rejected by his sister). My other favourite character is Nic, even though he didn't have much screentime, most of his parts in the book always make me snicker because he is just so witty and funny. Hopefully he will have more screentime in the rest of the series.Other than the mentioned above, the rest of the characters just didn't make it.1) Jonas character development in the beginning didn't justified with his actions at the end (You wanted to avenge for Tomas and fulfill his dream but end up fighting a useless war where you have so many doubts with but still do it for god knows what reason.)2) Cleo's character a typical spoilt brat and typical development into a strong willed and determine person with typical unsurpassable good looks. (Anyone who wanted a better queen development should read the Seven Realms series by Cinda Williams Chima).3) As for Lucia, I used to love her but as the story progresses I just can't. I think she needed to love her brother as a man rather than her brother. alright I am being biased here.Even with bad character development due to the introduction of too many at once, I still think the story is great and I'm looking forward to read/finish the series. Another great fantasy book I would recommend is definitely The Lumatere Chronicles by Melina Marchetta. It took me a while to get into this one because I personally don't enjoy narrative that switches between voices each chapter. I understand why the book was written this way because it weaves the story together from multiple points of view. Instead of having a good vs. evil perspective, the reader has insight into all sides and that was meaningful to me as a reader. This book tells the story of three kingdoms entering into the tragedy of war. Magic has left the world but prophecy reveals that a girl will be born as a might sorcerer who will be able to manipulate all four elements. As the kingdoms become embroiled in war, characters from each kingdom become entangled with each other as well...love, hate, etc. You name it. These are fast paced, easy to read books. I look forward to the next book because I'm curious to see how it all plays out.

Škoda, že sa o tejto knihe viac nehovorí (v dobrom), zaslúžila by si.
