About book La Chasse Infernale (2013)

Well, let's face it. We have gorgeous handsome sexy alluring Fae. So what's the problem? The problem is a very naive prude main character. Her life wasn't easy and it can't be easy with all the pressure on her. But she still hates her father for protecting her. Still thinks she can do better than a few thousand years old fae when it comes to protection against a few thousand years old evil. Like Keane said, Dana is quite the drama queen. I understand her reaction about her mother, but my understanding stops there. And come on! Did you have to twist the whole story and the Erkling, too, just to end up justifying how important is for her to remain saint/pure/virgin/prude/innocent whateve'? I didn't expect to read a Jeanne d'Arc story so please. Why are authors nowadays trying so HARD to make me believe that their main character hates sex but only with her chosen one she doesn't? And while doing that, you make the guy a reputable Casanova. Some balance you have there. I was pleasantly surprised with Shadowspell, but I definitely liked it a lot more than Glimmerglass. I thought that the addition of the Erlking was interesting and his backstory was also interesting, but it also fits with the story really well. I'm really curious to see what role the Erlking will play in the next book and how a certain deal he and Dana made will play out. Still, I find that deal particularly interesting because of an ability of his and how it'll work because of Dana being a Fairiewalker. I'm not sure how I feel about Dana in this book. I think I'm feeling pretty neutral about her, and I feel pretty neutral about a lot of the other characters. I get why Dana has a lot of issues but the only character who is really standing out right now is the Erlking. I think his interest in her to be really interesting.I really like the world that Black has created. There's so much going on in this world and there's so much there! It's definitely a good second book and it really adds to the series. Dana learns more about her abilities as a Fairiewalker, and she's clearly not just any Fairiewalker. That, combined with everything else going on, makes me feel like there's a lot more going on than what we're seeing. Let's Rate It: I really liked Shadowspell and I can't wait to read the next book! To be honest, I'm not completely sure why I liked this one so much, but it was a really enjoyable read. Shadowspell gets 4 stars.

Do You like book La Chasse Infernale (2013)?

Sometimes it is hard to keep liking a character who continually makes really bad decisions. This is one of those times.Dana knows that the Erkland is out to get her, and yet she keeps going out in public - bad decision. She goes out and the Erkland captures Ethan and tricks him into becoming enslaved by him. So, she decides that she must make a deal with the Erkland to save Ethan - but instead of doing research to learn everything she can about him first, she just meets him and thinks that she can offer him a flimsy deal to get Ethan back and the guy will take it. She has not alternative plan. - bad decision. So, of course, the Erkland gets the better of her by making her promise her virginity to him. Does she say she wants to think about it first? no - bad decision. Does she come up with a counter-offer? no. Why not do something like a Dexter style deal and allow him to hunt mortals that are killers, rapists, and drug king-pins or brutal dictators? No, she just decides that her virginity is no big deal, thinking that there couldn't possibly be anything behind the giving of a girl's virginity to a magical creature. - really, really bad decision. Now, Dana is screwed. Or not.

Jenna Black, Remedial Magic  B004FPYZLQ, Personally, I think it is silly to publish this short tidbit all by itself. Why not place the trilogy in 3 separate sections of one book? It would take a little bit longer to read leaving the reader “satisfied”. It is a waste of time to download 3 tiny “books” . The author is a good writer. She really should consider publishing small series together. I believe in the long run, the reviews would go UP as the reader may feel an entire book was read instead of a teaser.
