Sí, ya sé que está muy mal, que es tramposo que yo califique este libro, pero me he acostumbrado a anotar aquí los libros que voy leyendo (o releyendo) y hoy le toca a este; o mejor dicho a la relectura en español (en una excelente traducción de Marta Lila Murillo) de la novela de Caitlín R. Kiernan... Y he subido la puntuación (de 4 a 5 estrellas), porque me parece una historia cautivadora, un relato brillante y estupendamente escrito sobre el arte de escribir, el amor y la esquizofrenia. Me absorbe su ritmo lento, ese misterio contenido, ese miedo a lo desconocido, a ese monstruo invisible, apenas garabateado que, posiblemente, todos guardamos dentro de nosotros mismos. Muchas historias dentro del relato principal, muchos misterios y secretos que resolver... y la locura (y los fantasmas) planeando por todas las páginas del libro. Una maravilla. This was the most difficult book for me to read maybe ever. So much of the book could have been me in spirit: I had an Abalyn and an Eva in my life. I am mermaid-obsessed. I have struggled with depression and have had crisis events and periods in which my inner dialog, my perception of the world, and my struggle to distinguish fact from truth were much like Imp's. Reading this book was like visiting, as a tourist, a place where I was once held captive. Not only is the writing brilliant, but Caitlin Kiernan is an incredibly brave author to have written this book and I salute her with both hands. I don't think I could record those periods in my life with as much articulate and beautiful prose as she has done here.
