About book Lady Daphnes Verehrer (2013)

I am surprised that I liked this book as much as I did. Castleford, the hero, is introduced as a mean guy, a persona he dons on Tuesdays. The rest of the time he is a drunken imbecile. The novel seems to be devoted to his Tuesdays. A day that puts everyone who knows him in fear of their lives. That set up belies his behavior toward the heroine--and therein lies the mystery. Who is she? What does she have to do with him? While he seems to be mean to her on Tuesdays, why does he set out to save her?I liked the heroine, Daphne. She is a strong woman with a flock of needy women who depend on her for protection. This book is the fourth in a series. I haven't read any of the others, and, surprisingly, that didn't detract from the book. As you can see, I expected that because this book is part of a series, I would not know what was going on. It wasn't a problem. I enjoyed the book as is. He burned his bed for her and then bought a new one, just for her.He was a huge man-whore before they met so he does all these things to prove himself to her. I don't want to ruin it but the things he does to win her over and woo her were amazing. I didn't like the parts of the book about the political unrest and calling out the army against workers. I really didn't see a reason for it to be in the book.Overall, I enjoyed it.
