I think my DP roll is going to come to an end soon. I'll read a book or two more, because I don't yet feel like going back into the world of non-asshole heroes and non-innocent heroines who are in love with them. God, DP. She is like a soothing balm for me, every once in a while when I get tired of reading awful, bitchy heroines and unpleasant plots, I always pick up a Palmer book. She always manages to have an uplifting effect on me, even if the book turns out to be not so good, even if I decide to give it a 1-star. She is just amazing for me. I FUCKING LOVE HER, DAMMIT!!!Now my thoughts on this book. I didn't like it very much, TBH. It didn't do much for me (except get me *ahem* fanning myself a few times). The reason for it (for my dislike, not the fanning) was mainly the heroine, Merlyn. I hate rich-girl-poor-guy romances and I hate deception-themed romances even more. Merlyn was a spoiled rich girl with too many walls (that weren't even justified, IMO) and a carefree life. Cam was very swoon-worthy, though, I loved him so much! He was older, cynical, stuffy and fell hard for Merlyn. I absolutely love older, mature guys. His daughter Amanda was a sweetheart too ♥The writing was, sadly, lacking, but I loved, loved the banter. The way Merlyn teases Cam using Jane Eyre innuendoes was hi-freakin'-larious!! I loved the Jane Eyre references as well, JE being my MOST favourite romance novel. The story was full of angst and the ending was so sweet, especially the serenading part which had me laughing my ass off. DP does homour very well too! All in all it was a cute read. I enjoyed it quite a bit.
I recently found a few of Diana Palmer's older books and I must admit I love all of her books. I started this one and it was a little hard to get in to and maybe that was because it is an older one, but once I got in to it I was sucked in and read it in a little under 7 hours.Cameron is a douche and seriously I wouldn't want to be with him but they have a love hate relationship and I just love that push and pull. Merlyn doesn't take his attitude at all and stands up for herself and for that I am truly glad. I just love all of Ms. Palmers' work and couldn't pass this up!!

I always love to read this book.. masalah seputar ayah Merlyn yang gemar menjodoh2kan putrinya dan disinggungnya Jane Eyre dan Mr. Rochester membuatku makin menyukai buku ini. Penggemar DP dipastikan tidak boleh tidak memiliki buku ini.. Salah satu buku yang paling menghibur bagi yang mau bacaan ringan.Ini buku kedua fave-ku diluar jacobsville series, berkisah mengenai Merlyn yg baru aja patah hati krn tunangannya ternyata lbh mencintai harta Merlyn. Merlyn yakin laki2 mendekatinya hanya krn dia kaya dan menyesali hal tsb sampai ayahnya menantang Merlyn bertaruh utk hidup dalam samaran dan tidak boleh mengandalkan kekayaannya dan apakah Merlyn dapat hidup dengan bekerja juga.Lalu bekerjalah Merlyn pd Lila, penulis novel, sbg asisten riset. Disanalah dia bertemu dengan Cameron, anak Lila, yang kaku dan otoriter tp.. sexy..dan Merlyn menjulukinya Mr. Rochester. Merlyn yang keras kepala ketemu lawannya yg ternyata lebih parah keras kepalanya dr Merlyn dan Lila selalu encourage Merlyn utk bikin Cameron marah..kocak banget kalo Merlyn mulai bertingkah layaknya dirinya Jane Eyre dan Cam adalah Mr. Rochester. Mau tau kan gimana caranya akhirnya Jane Eyre modern ini menaklukan Mr. Rochester yang memiliki keyakinan pernikahan tidak harus dilandasi cinta, selama dia memiliki istri yang penurut seperti yang sudah direncakan oleh Cam dengan bertunangan dengan seorang gadis kaya yg masih muda dan manja tp takut pd Cam, sampai dia ketemu Merlyn yg kebalikan dr semua keyakinannya ^^V
