About book L'arte Di Respirare (2000)

I love Dom & Ty as a couple, but I was disappointed with the lack of Dom in the book. The crossover with the other characters was fun to read (even though I haven't read that other novel yet) but I really wanted more "alone time" for Dom and Ty. I was also annoyed that Ty had to do all this atoning and apologizing for running, but Dom wasn't sorry for any of his actions? Yes I get that he had Ben as a result, and he should not apologize for having a child but he could have felt guilty about the circumstances? If Dom realized he had feelings for Ty when he caught him and Stacey in the hall or was it when Ty announced to the world that he was gay? Either way, why couldn't he just keep it in his pants? He would have had to wait two years for Ty to be of age, would that really have killed him? Uggghhhhh! I'm just frustrated because I was rooting for this pairing ever since Dom was introduced in the previous book. I was also annoyed at Stacey and Dom both telling Ty as if he was a selfish little kid that Ben is Dom's first priority in life now. I thought it was patronizing, because Ty is trying very hard to "grow up" and be responsible for his actions and then he's talked down to. I think Ty understands without it being said that Ben should be Dom's first priority, after all Ty has firsthand experience of not being his mom's first priority. I think he knows that a parent's love for a child should come first. As for Stacey... did not like her at all. I know Klune tried to make her likable by making her Dom's biggest supporter, but I just wish she didn't exist. Her "talk" with Ty irritated me to no end! When she was telling Ty about how much he destroyed Dom when he shut him out... I kept thinking, none of this would have happened if you were not involved! I am such a bitter and vindictive person, lol.Well I can't believe the cliffhanger ending... Bear and Otter having TWINS AAAAND Izzy moving in with them. Bear didn't have to go through the empty nest for long :P I can't wait for the next book! Klune created such lovable characters (except for Stacey) and it feels like you're a part of this big family while you're reading. This is Tyson’s story, and it’s not surprising that a precocious, child genius who has been abandoned twice by his mother, raised by a neurotic brother and an assortment of loving friends is having a rough time as he hits his late teens/young adulthood. Add in a heart breaking crush on a best friend. This is a very emotional book, hitting highs and lows. It really captures that sense of craziness and otherness that is the highlight of late teen/early college years. I liked the surrounding cast of characters and their support for Tyson, although at times the crew does overwhelm the story. But that’s true for the characters in the story as well so it works.
